Why do people hit gym 6x a day if the central nervous system takes 48 hr to heal? Has anyone done a 3 day split and a 6 day split to have experience to comment on pros/cons of both?
 
Cns doesnt take 48h to heal. Its more like a fuel tank that keeps regenerating just not quickly enough so that it never dries out. You can workout 7 days a week if you want to (chest, legs, arms & shoulders, back, repeat) and only deload when you feel like you need to. Example your lifts arent progressing or you are considerably weaker, just make sure your diet and sleep were on point so you can properly track when you need to deload. Also cutting out exercises that use multiple muscles at once ( mostly just deadlifts) can extend the period of training without deload.

6 Times too much if u train with high intensity. When you train hard but too much ur cortisol significantly increase so less test more fatigue and more muscle breakdown. I’ve personally found the sweet spot doing 2 ON 1 OFF and repeating, with a 400 Kcal difference between this 2 days, using more carbs on my days ON and less carbs on my days OFF.
Some ppl can say that when volume is equated it doesn’t matter how many times you go, but personally I do not agree at all. Hope this helps
