Yes it is cause if you take over 5 it's gonna mess up your natural melatonin production, if you take less it's not enough to have an effect

Melatonin helps you sleep, i dont even think there is any negative side effects to it, except if you over do it ALOT… things your experiencing is from something else probably. I used to take 20mg everyday and no side effects from that. it’s different from person to person ofc..
