Is it cope?
Yes and no. It is cope in the sense that most of the "benefits" listed above are either placebo or straight up non-existent. However it can still benefit some people in a few lesser-known ways I'll be discussing later on in the post.
When is it cope?
(+common misconceptions)
It is cope when you think it will give you superpowers, inhuman testosterone, or magically make you able to talk to women.

Misconception 1: Increased testosterone.
"but muh test"
While not 100% false, the claims of increased levels of testosterone on no-fap are largely misleading.
Yes, stopping masturbation does increase testosterone, however it's a short-term effect. Upon starting no-fap you WILL experience a brief, maybe even noticeable increase in testosterone between the 4th and 7th day, but to the disappointment of no-fap advocates the levels quickly go back to baseline between the 10th and 12th day. It's not a magical sign from god to stop masturbating, it's your body's withdrawal symptoms. Think of it as of any other addiction or habit, if you have been masturbating for some time your body is used to the dopamine that comes with it, so once you stop for a few days your brain simply triggers the increase of testosterone in hopes of getting that dopamine again (higher test -> more libido -> beating your meat -> sweet sweet dopamine).

Misconception 2: Masturbation is bad.

Another common misconception pushed by mainstream self-improvement coaches and the redpill community.
Masturbation is not inherently bad. It can be beneficial in moderation, but in extreme cases it can lead to several issues. It all depends on the context and frequency.
"How often can I beat my meat then?" - you may ask. Let me answer the question for you: do it as often as you want as long as you don't do it more than once a day, there are no adverse physiological side effects coming directly from stroking your shit once per day. The actual frequency varies from person to person and everyone is different. Personally I'd say the sweet spot is around 2x a week but you do you.
Potential benefits of masturbation:
1. Reduced risk of prostate cancer.
When ejaculating you're essentially flushing out your prostate gland, getting rid of potential cancer-causing agents.
2. Stress relief.
During an orgasm your body releases endorphins, dopamine, and oxytocin which simply speaking can help you relax and clear out your mind.
3. Potentially better stamina for fuckin'.
Due to the engagement of your pelvic floor muscles during masturbation you can technically do the same thing as you do in the gym and train the muscles, except this time you're training the ones responsible for getting your willy up. It can help achieve erections and keep them up for longer periods of time.
4. Increased sperm quality.
(only matters if you're trying to conceive, which let's not lie to ourselves - you're not)
Ejaculation causes your balls to get rid of old damaged sperm, helping you keep a fresh supply of brand-new cum for when trying for a baby.

Potential risks (chronic gooners only):
1. Addiction.
Frequent masturbation can cause you to develop a habit, while it is 100% a mental addiction, not a physical one like with most substances you should still keep yourself in check. It's a lame ass thing to be addicted to and you'll just feel like more of a chud. Instead just do coke or something idc.
2. Fucking up your dopamine sensitivity.
As I had mentioned earlier, cumming releases dopamine, doing it too often can make your dopamine receptors less responsive and make you feel unmotivated, bored and lazy.
3. Prolactin increase (in edge case chronic gooners)
Now for the stuff that can really fuck you up: during an orgasm your body releases prolactin, it basically tells your body that the reproductive needs have been satisfied and to not be horny anymore. The spike is rather extreme, but temporary (you can often experience it in the form of post-nut clarity) usually lasting no more than about an hour. Temporary once a day spikes in prolactin cause no harm in men, however when jerking off 3-4x a day or more there can be some real issues. Frequent prolactin spikes in edge-case chronic gooners over a prolonged period of time (starting at about 3 days of jerkin' 4+ times a day) CAN and WILL cause hypogonadal-adjacent symptoms, such as: decreased sex drive, reduced spermatogenesis (less cum), GNrH suppression (lower test production), bloating, fat accumulation, gynecomastia (and in extreme cases even lactation), as well as psychological issues (depression, fatigue, irritability etc.).
Bottom line: unless you want to become a femboy/terachud limit your gooning sessions to no more than once a day.
Misconception 3: Being able to talk to women.
No-fap WON'T make you more social towards women. All the people claiming it helped them are either lying or delusional. It's entirely a placebo effect.
If you're a high-inhib shycel normally, it won't change when you stop fapping.
What actually helps you approach women:
1. Practice:
Stop being a bitch and do some cold approaches and don't treat women like aliens. If you notice a girl on the street and go up to talk her you're practicing your confidence. "But I'm a sub5 chud what if I get rejected?" - dude, if it's a random bitch what do you care if she rejects you, your life won't change in any meaningful way. Aside from gaining confidence and experience, by cold approaching several women a week based on their responses you're getting realistic data on what you can pull, and a realistic view of your SMV.
2. Drugs:
If you're a high-inhib antisocial retard you can always resort to alcohol, pregab, benzos or anything else that tickles your fancy and makes you more sociable.

If you have a wife/girlfriend or engage in frequent intercourse - not only is masturbation redundant in this scenario, abstaining from it can make you have better sexual drive and have more satisfaction from actually fucking.
If your masturbation is accompanied by pornography - just fapping won't mess you up, porn will. It causes your brain to link porn to sexual pleasure so when it's time to fuck a bitch you might have trouble performing or even getting it up, especially if you've been jerking it to porn your whole life.
