Orthodontic elastics

I've been wearing braces for about a year so far and they straightened by teeth (obviously) but then my orthodontist implemented rubber bands to correct my bite.

Firstly, she pulled by lower jaw forward, but then claimed she miscalculated the timings and now has to pull my jaw backwards.

My teeth sit on top of each other perfectly, but I feel like if I wear the elastics to pull my jaw back I'll descend. I was supposed to wear them for a month, but havent.

I have an appointment in a few days, should I wear them before the appointment or not?
