Yoo getting braces soon have a mild overbite
Question is the dentist wanna push my maxilla back a lil to bring my jaw forward should i do it or is there something else i can do

I think you're using terms you don't understand properly.

Overbite = top front teeth overlap the lower teeth vertically.
Overjet = top teeth stick out too far horizontally.

I hear people saying “overbite” when they actually mean an overjet/Class II bite, which is where the lower jaw or lower teeth sit too far back relative to the upper jaw/teeth.

If they're moving your actual upper jaw bone surgically, that's an orthognathic surgery. Jaw surgery is only used to correct a bite and facial profile when orthodontics alone is insufficient.

Pushing the "Maxilla" back can mean many different things.

Shi i mean by braces and all , saw alot of threads saying tryna fix an overbite wkth braces can push the maxilla back to pottentially bring the lower jaw forward
 
dont ever get your maxilla pushed back. Rather stay with the overbite for life then that
