Yes, expanding the palate at young ages helps a lot with jaw development if you have a narrow palate.
The top jaw "locks in" the mandible, obbligating it to grow downwards, stunting its development and causing it to grow shorter even, so you should definitely get your palate expanded if you need to, make sure to talk to an ortho that specilized in these kind of things

if ur elegible get a sarpe when ur 18, a normal palate expander might work but its not gonna be as effective at ur age, sarpe actually cuts the bone and expands it, will give u a sub5 tooth gap doe (u need braces after to fix it) ask ur orthodontist, if ur not elegible get the palate expander while ur still developing and hope u ascend
