palate expanders, are they cope if you dont wanna get surgery?

im 17 and im pretty sure my palate has already gorwn and cant be expanded withotu surgery, but some people say that palate expanders still work regardless of if your upper jaw is frozen or not? not sure if this is cope or not. another question while im here is, does thumbpulling even work? or is it bs like half of the mainstream looksmaxxing tips
