I suspect it's caused by the upper maxilla not being forward grown enough relative to your cheekbones.

In his case its really easy, he just filled the nasolabial fold with hyaluron + collagen. There are a lot of videos on youtube for this topic. When the fold is gone, it will not look hollow anymore.
