Got brackets for deepbite

Got my top brackets put on today. Before we started I told my ortho I was worried braces would make my profile look worse/recessed. I said to her that many people end up with a more recessed maxilla than before. She told me it’s actually the opposite for me and the maxilla wouldnt be moved at all. She is going to move the upper teeth more to a forward angle so they dont sit too steep on my lower teeth.
My upper front teeth are too steep (retroclined), which makes my deep bite worse.

Her plan is to torque them forward a bit (proclination) so they’re in a more normal position. Doing this opens my bite slightly instead of closing it more.
But I always thought braces just pull teeth backwards and more together?

Anyone else here fix a deep bite starting with upper brackets like this? And do you think my profile will get worse.?

Why do my posts never get any comments 😢

Bump ):

So it‘s a misconception that braces make you recessed and my jaw wont be better or worse?

Yes and No. Normally braces don't move your maxilla and even if they do, it's very miniscule(~0.1mm). And only if you wear strong Class II elastics.

It's when jew orthos pulls out premolars to fix crooked teeth instead of expanding the arch as it takes much less time. This is also known as "Quick and dirty" on r/Braces.

What do you think happens when you remove those teeth and there are huge gaps between the teeths?
Sure, some of the space is used to address the crowding, but most of the space is left unused.

When the body senses redundant gaps, it carries out a process called "bone resorption". Basically dissolve "excess" jaw bone, which in your case is where those premolars were. Your entire lower maxilla moves horizontally backward as the body reduces the gap.
