Pharmakos was the ritualistic sacrifice or exile of an Ugly/Disabled person in Ancient Greece.

These people were sacrificed/exiled as a scapegoat at times or disaster or crisis as they’re sacrifice was to bring purification as they was seen as a bad omen. This would happen every year at the festival of Thargelia in May-June. They would be beaten in the streets, drove out of time or just executed by stoning simply for being ugly.
