During puberty ur body is already producing the equivalent of 5.4IU’s of HGH on average (15-18 years old)
Studies used: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1730812/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8370685/
So through the ages of 15 to 18 you’re already producing roughly 5.4 IU’s worth of HGH by yourself. Meaning if you pin anything below 6IU’s ur basically shutting down ur own production for less growth hormone in turn you will grow to be shorter AND have less bonemass.
The sweet spot would be around 6-10IU’s (results start to diminish after 10IU’s) for teens

Endogenous growth hormone secretion and clearance rates in normal boys
Findings: Reported daily GH outputs in healthy males rise from early puberty to late puberty. For example:- Prepubertal (Tanner I, ~9–12 yr): about 0.61–0.76 mg/day (610–760 μg/24 h) .
- Mid-puberty (Tanner ~III, ~13–15 yr): about 1.0–1.03 mg/day (≈1025 μg/24 h) .
- Late-puberty (Tanner V, ~16–18 yr): about 1.8–1.81 mg/day (≈1810 μg/24 h) .
