I think easily he fits the bill, but isn't nearly as striking as previous casts. His profile is good but could be better: high gonial angle for the role, coupled with a subpar hyoid (although it looks better in the last gif).

How do you guys rank him amongst past superman actors?

Still even young Cavill looked reliable, this guy looks like he would sue you for punching him in the face and fly away from all battles that are not low hanging fruits. His core issue is he does not look heroic, only like a spoiled trustfund brat.

i'd argue that rdj, for example, doesn't look very playboyish and lacks that arrogant edge, just juding by his face, by when you factor in his performance, how he carries himself, it fits perfectly. I think you have to wait for the actual performance to judge stuff like that, he might not look heroic now, but when he does heroic shit in the movie i don't think it will cause any dissonance

Indeed. Seen morphs that come close to 8 psl imo, but at the expense of looking uncanny and like another species altogether. It's funny how one of the last pills is actually one of the most reassuring.
