I'm not even religious but I can't see how anyone could be so arrogant as to think they're smarter than thousands of years of humanities greatest minds. I'm talking philosophers, theologians, scientists who were born geniuses and dedicated their whole lives to studying the Christian God and the bible and what they got out of it was undying faith. How can you just disregard everything they had to say, their experiences because you think something came from nothing and everything you do is basically pointless and then the audacity to feel smarter than someone else just because they're religious and you're not and go out of their way to disrespect followers of organiezd religion. Christians in particular they take usually take no issue, funnily enough, with religions that contain things they claim to hate more than anything.
And then you'll try talking to them and their entire argument is some regurgitated talking point that's easily refutable. Even if you're not religious, like myself, you should be able to see some truth and the deep importance of spirituality and the key role religion has on a society.
I just don't understand where that undying confidence comes from.
