Also another thing you need to consider is that literally no one will ever be in the same pose in the before and after. They will use shitty angles with a large amount of lens distortion to make the before look shitty and use the best angles and lighting in the after picture.

Notice how his head is tilted in the after picture, it gives you the illusion that his face is wider than it really is since you can't accurate see his fwhr.
