Social media does way worst to society than what people think. I believe (just one of the many bad things they do), is cheat people who should lead the right to lead by manipulative tactics, and "pick winners" of those who should never have a position of power from an objective standpoint.

Content is no longer naturally being shared by the algorithm. Lets look at twitter, where you can pay for blue and have your content "exposed" to more people. This is a tale tale sign that organizations manipulate platforms, and picks winners via controlling the exposure count. Its all a guise of organic growth. They even try to sell you the solution in forms of paying to "promote" your keywords and analytics. Meanwhile the backend of the code is in reality a bot or human filtration process (SEO) that goes on, where ( one example in SEO) a hive minded process grants you more exposure for your content only if other credible content creators (fraternity) link to your videos, and in other similar ways. It is the definition of a predatory, scummy and scam system, and one of the worst evils of humanity in modern human history.

This is often drastically different from the early days of the platforms, which at a period of time would have random creators pop up on the explore page, as well as search engines that would actually find a video by specific keywords. Instead now for example, your searching up half of your title on the search bar, bur find a Mr. Beast video instead (or some other open-mouth thumbnail archetype). Or even worst, not show your content at all on any latest or explore page, regardless if you type the exact title and keyword. This is textbook bait and switch which also creates the guise of free speech and rallys people to the platform. Tiktok did the exact same thing, so did early twitter and YouTube. The worst case is when the option of fiscal gain was now an option through the web, which makes the manipulation of exposure even more serious. And in todays time, the benefit of fiscal gain online has far surpassed almost anything you can get in real life, which again, makes the manipulation of exposure even more serious.

So basically these companies are rallying humanity to these platforms, raising generations on them so that the future of people will be codependent on it, and then manipulating the natural process of leadership and such things that popularity, and human exposure gives (fiscal, for example). This is extremely wicked to me. As, it not only is deceptive, but takes away the natural power structures that would happen naturally outside of conformed media structures (like real life, or true free will niche social spaces). Structures which would never host unspectacular and useless content creators (potentially favoring the more controversial, neurodivergent, and spectacular content creators.), and being fairer to a more diverse range of archetypes outside of the open-mouth infantile creator type we see today.. Generations of people are becoming just as useless and shallow by the influence of the picked "winners" of the conformed media. Now lets look at here. Looksmax.org is essentially a trashbin of social media outcasts, and all of you here know your thoughts wont be exposed to anybody if posted anywhere else, or received well in any context inside the likes of YouTube, Twitter, tiktok etc. Regardless of content, you'd get 10-50 views max. 100 or a thousand if your lucky and break some rules. No comments and certainly no fiscal gain or enough exposure to gain a legitimate social support system.

I agree. Whoever controls the social media controls the population.

You can't really say the perception of the public wasn't controlled for a very very long time however. It's actually nothing new, it's just in a different form and more insidious/advanced perhaps.

Its definitely social control. I actually think that's its main purpose

i just don't think some people are capable of not being a social fanatic, or have genetic and biological prepositions to operate and learn thigs through social dynamics. Say sos, social proof, preselection, hierarchy. Its human to have those traits. Only someone who is aware of it and detests that behavior be more likely to operate outside of the human paradigm, and able to sololy find their own path. At that point the flaws of religious people and religion becomes apparent, and may even become a stumbling block.

and now due to information being consumed en masse and human awareness at its zenith, religion is seen as fallacy. god is dead. and the effect it has on the human condition is yet to be seen.
