Recently started wearing a ring when going out.

I've had 4 different girls comment on me having a new ring and wanting to see it up close and compliment me on it, while touching my hand and fingers.
I think rings can be an interesting softmaxx as they draw attention to the hands, and most girls are really into male hands. So it both leads them to look at your hands, and gives them an excuse to touch/look at them up close in a way that's socially acceptable. It also kind of leans into prettyboy/eboy territory which is a popular niche.

Five important pieces of information are to be considered here;
  • I already dress elegantly and have a prettyboyish vibe. Not sure rings would fit any aesthetic, they'd probably look out of place on hypermasc guys.
  • I have attractive hands (large palms, long slender fingers, veiny, groomed fingernails) - drawing attention to your hands may be counterproductive if they're not your strong suit.
  • You need a certain degree of confidence to pull off male jewellery, even subtle ones like rings. So don't wear any if you get mad when someone calls you a faggot for it.
  • I was not wearing generic silver plain rings; they don't draw as much attention, and if a man wears a ring, it's usually one of those or a wedding band so it doesn't make you stand out that much. I was wearing a ring that looked eye-catching but not too extravagant. Find one that is unique and works with your style.
  • It's just a stylemaxx. Don't assume it will turn you into a slayer.

I was just about to write you something mean but this is actually really interesting.
I too, have nice hands (hopefully for others too), and perhaps I can also start wearing one myself...
Though if I do go down this route, I'll have to be subtle in order to avoid looking like a fag.

This tbh

what kind
Two options
A. Safe and easy: plain silver or black ring.
B. Unique and eye-catching: something that most people wouldn't wear, but that works for you. Look for small artisans or artsy websites like Etsy. Don't go overboard or you'll just look ridiculous. If I knew a good artisan, I'd have one custom made, but they're probably very expensive.

I'd say no more than 2 rings per hand, and no more than 3 rings in total.
So you could wear 2 on your right hand, and 1 on your left hand.
I've ever only worn one though. But I see guys with rings and I don't think the rapper look with a bunch of gaudy rings looks great.
Good male jewellery is subtle.

how to wear them ( which finger )
First ring on your ring finger
Second ring on your index finger, or middle finger

just make yourself a target for muggers theory

Agreed. Tastefully worn rings say "I have a story to tell" without looking trashy like tattoos, and are most common on actual high-status men (royalty, aristocrats, men who went to elite schools/fraternities, military leadership, etc.). Dressing extremely plain is something that was traditionally associated with workers.

IMO if you wear a ring, it should have a story behind it or an association with yourself. Also, it should ideally be fairly small. Something like this is a conversation starter, and chicks dig that kind of thing. I would not wear something big like this, because that size makes it look more feminine.

Good point. I would avoid any obvious jewelry if I was in a dangerous city.

I kind of wrote a thread about this very exact dynamic: https://looksmax.org/threads/unique...ll-off-certain-styles-and-others-cant.535287/

Yeah. It's only a conversation starter if you're confident about wearing it and it has some level of meaning to you beyond "it looks good". However, if you legitimately chose it simply out of aesthetic reasons, being honest about it is alright too.

A few notes on ring styles (I've done a bit of research):

The most common style of ring you'll see on men is a band ring. They are round and plain, and usually used as a wedding ring (the finger and hand you wear a ring finger on varies by country). I would not recommend wearing one of these unless you're married, because of that association, and because they're just plain-looking.

The most traditional masculine ring is called the signet style. This is a ring where the front part is larger, and usually has some kind of design: Sometimes a symbol from a certain family or organization, or a jewel. Men have used these rings for thousands of years to show off their status and position in society.

The one style of ring I would never recommend on men is the bejeweled band ring (not sure what they're actually called). This is associated with women and especially women who are kind of vain and/or rich. It's very feminine and delicate-looking. It also screams "this is expensive please mug me" if you're in the wrong part of town.

A $5 ring probably looks like shit. You don't have to be that cheap.
