Should I trim or shave this neckbeard?

I am getting weird looks from women, I think it has to do with my neckbeard.
Should I trim my beard two fingers above Adam’s apple or shave it along the same line?
Shaving creates nasty razor bumps with makes shaving it again impossibly painful.
