lol at these noobs saying before lmaooo.
never static stretch before workout unless you want to tear something. cases you apply static stretches before are rare and takes up very little of your warm up routine to only fix a range of motion issue in a movement pattern or something.

only static stretch after workout while your muscles are already warm.

really depends what you are doing. If you are doing say a workout that includes squats but you don't have the necessary mobility to reach depth without stretching beforehand, then yes you should stretch. The issue is that everything that goes beyond light dynamic stretching, will impact the strength/power output and increases chance of injuries. It really is a tradeoff.

Jeff Cavaliere already answered this for us. Stretch AFTER the workout. Warm up BEFORE the workout.
