Strength gains without hypertrophy

Does anyone have experience with low rep ranges increasing strength without adding muscle? I want to continue getting better in the squat but my quads are like 26 inches so getting them bigger would fuck up my proportions. I do 5x5 currently.

The issue is you can’t take the muscle to failure very easily in like a 3x2 set. The idea is to improve muscle utilization primarily. I’ve never done it before though so I’m wondering if it’s a scam. Obv high volume is a fucking scam why do you think I do strength sets in the first place nigga?

I care about muscle utilization, and others don’t, which is why I don’t want tumor legs with a mht upper body but still want higher squat numbers.

Nothing wrong with that but going up to a Stacy and tell her muh I squat 150kg see how that works please for love of god do low volume high intensity
