Strongest antidepressant?

SSRI (Effexor) gave me Tinnitus :)
And most antidepressants might cause Tinnitus, if you get T then congratz now you are REALLY depressed.
In short never ever touch that shitty chemical bs. And yeah it does help some people but risk/advantage is not worth it.

Sup. Finally turned 18, and can treat my depression without needing parents' permission. I am torn between Prozac, Lexapro, or Zoloft. Which one should I go with? Or maybe there is another, better option?

Thanks

If you choose SSRIs, choose one which you think has an OK enough side effects profile and use it for 1-2 months. Most likely you'll see whether it works within a month or so, and likely you'll get low energy, but likely some of these side effects will vanish. If it works then you're recommended to stay on it for half a year, so the depression won't come back. It ain't the end of the world to try! I think there are better options, but hey, SSRIs ain't as bad as some make it out to be. But what you wrote about LSD, can you elab on that? Like what dose you took, light, medium or high, and how it gave you more depression? Asking for a friend.

I haven't read all the thread but one thing, if you're depressed it might be there's more pressure than you can handle, for whatever reason. Like you got lots to do, but shit comes faster than you can shovel, and if this is the case try to find a way to prevent such pressure. Take a break, an extended holiday, if possible. Some call such a depression a burnout, and it's very common indeed. Finding the source of your depression and fixing that is the best solution long term.

fuck chemistry

find ways to improve your life, set yourself goals and fight for them

Choose one without the side effect of weight gain. Don't choose Citalopram because it causes weight gain.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but the drugs will never hurt you.

Yeah it's kinda permanent... but I have high hopes that I might look into treatment that hopefully will work for me.

I took it for 8 months probably.
It also fucked my libido and erections.

In short it was the worst experience in my life so far. and now I'm trying to fix the damage it caused.
