So now it's definitely scheduled: surgery in July 2022.

What will be done?

- SARPE, 5mm distraction both in the upper and lower jaw
- Wisdom teeth extraction
- Plates and Screws removal from the Chin Wing
- Side wing osteotomy to fix my jaw angles that were destroyed during the chin wing

- braces for orthognatic preparation for Bimax in February 2023

My goals: wider smile/palate, improhed nasal breathing, repositioning of my masseter muscles and jaw angles, slight ikcrease of bigonial distance, decreased masseter hypertrophy.

Surgeon: Dr. Obwegeser.

What is side wing osteotomy? Why do you need that if you are getting jaw implants?

it's completely destroying your gonial angle. Most men have bad gonial angle so imagine worsening your ramus and gonial angle to get better chin projection when you can get genio

Besides, why not +implants for angularity, how else is he supposed to give his front mandible a wider look without chin wing?

get the procedure, then a few days of turning the device to expand, then 2-3 months for teeth gap to close, then start orthodontics to close gap fully

it hasn't widened my resting mouth because my maxilla is still recessed

If I were to just get bimax which gives better upper lip support my smile wouldn't be as wide as `if I'd do it along with SARPE?

if u get sarpe it will be wider than no sarpe
but unless your upper arch is narrower than lower then you probably dont need it
