Tbh 20mg is very low take 80mg of furosemide alongside eplerenone 20mg or spironolactone 100mg . I'd recommend taking eplerenone bec it's very selective and does not cause man boobs.

Dude I just turned 15, and I don't want to stress my kidneys. I think 40mg is enough

Its a loop diuretic take it as needed before the photos etc.
No point taking it the day before cause effects will be gone overnight when you wake up dehydrated and start drinking again

The affects on the henle loop (part of your kidney which regulates K+/Na+ concentrate the most) last about 8 hours.
But like I said you won't want to be dehydrated for long. So you will probably drink.
Better to take it so diuretic affects are peaked at desired use time.
