My teeth come straight down from the gum, looks nothing like proclined teeth.

But above the gum is where it is protrusive(under my nose). The bone above the teeth is protruding.

What is causing this and how would I fix it?

I think is might be that my mouth is not protrusive but the rest of my face is just recessed comparatively.

I have the same thing my teeth are straight af you probably have bimaxilliary protrusion when the alveolar ridge/gums stick out it’s very hard to fix without getting premolar extractions and then bringing you mouth back with braces or surgery

Thanks for the response.

Do you know if it possible to move the maxilla forward to match up where the alveolar ridge is.

Instead of moving it backwards to match where the maxilla is.

Double jaw surgery can fix this. if your rich lefort 3 would be very good because it brings your whole upper face forwards to match your mouth also depending on how bad your protrusion is simple things like braces could fix it my recommendation would be to book an appointment with a maxillofacial surgeon and an orthodontist because they will be able to access your situation very accurately because mouth protrusion is extremely variable and each case is unique
