Same situation in The Netherlands, I think. So perhaps it’s because of EU regulations that it works like this. Luckily, when I asked for sleeping pills, my doctor agreed to prescribe them to me.

im pretty sure that I will get them based of the shit that is written in my diagnosis (I can dm it to you lol no doctor would read that shit and not give me medication)
Its fine in my situation but a person with serious issues would genuenlly have to wait for a few months wich I find like really fucked up

Yep, it sounds very similar to the Dutch system. It can’t be a coincidence that it’s the same. Like you say, we can wait but a person who desperately needs help cannot, and then they’d just rope. Actually. That reminds me of a conversation I had with one of my best friends. He said the exact same thing, about therapy and having a long waiting list. And how other people would just rope by then. It’s a stupid system, there should be a priority exception for those who desperately need help.

one of the psychiatrist I checked out (I emailed like 15 to see if any have a wait time under 2months) litterally had some shit like "for people with urgent needs call this number" and it was the suicide hotline
liek bro the suicide hotline isnt doing shit if the person allready knows he has thoose thaughts but can get medication

also the thing that anoys me the most is that therapists cant even prescribe shit in austria

The European health system is just a joke. The suicide hotline isn’t gonna do anything, like you say. They can just listen to someone venting but they can’t genuinely help those callers. In the Netherlands, only doctors can prescribe medication and therapists aren’t considered doctors but psychologists. That is why.
