You can find out your paternal and maternal haplogroups. This way, you can see where they originate from. I didn't know anything either but now I can place my ancestors to where they lived 3,000+ years ago. I'd never have been able to know if I hadn't taken a test. You should take it too, you might learn something new about yourself.
