This whole argument I'm about to make is true also for iq tests or getting rated by other people instead of using a website
Let's assume you either think you are ugly or you think you are attractive. I know most of the time you will be somewhere in between but you would still lean more to one way or to the other so it's ok to use this simplification for the sake of making the argument easier to follow.
Let's say you think you are ugly:
If you get a low to mid rating so anywhere from 0-5 this is just gonna confirm what you already knew in the first place and will only make you feel worse and more insecure. If you get a good rating that's likely not gonna change anything either because if you think you are ugly there must be a reason to it, and it's likely a mix of how you view yourself and how others treat you. Since you experience this likely everyday, a good rating will only boost your confidence in the short term, but that feeling will soon be replaced by the bad thoughts you had before, because especially how others treat you will not change one bit (since nothing has actually changed after getting rated). You will probably end up thinking that the website was wrong (which btw it can happen) and you'll go back to thinking you are ugly.
Now what if you think you are attractive:
Let's first make a brief clarification. Most people who think they are attractive will not actually want to get themselves rated. That is because if you have been attractive for a while you surely have received a lot of validation from others, which means you already know for sure that it's not only something that exist in your mind. So in this category I would put people that used to be ugly but have done a bit of self improvement and have started to notice some differences in their lives and they wanna check if they're actually attractive now or if they are just coping
If you get a bad/mid rating in this case it's gonna be even more devastating because it would confirm that you are indeed coping. Some of you might say "well but I want to know if I'm coping" but I would argue you actually don't. That is because if you have noticed a difference in your life after working on yourself it must mean you somehow are better looking than you used to be, just maybe not to the extent you think. But thinking you are more attractive than you actually are is very benefitial for your confidence and charisma and believe me it's something you would rather have than not.
If you get a good rating that's good, because that would confirm that you actually did get better. But the thing is you can obtain the same result just by waiting, because like I said people that are actually attractive will receive validation from others. With this second option you will avoid the possibility of getting a bad rating and hindering your confidence. I will also add that getting a direct confirmation of your attractivness could have some negative effects, for example you could become complacent or too cocky.
I welcome, and I will reply to, any criticism
