He/she is going to identify your skin type and recommend you a proper cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, exfoliator, and other products should you need them (such as a prescription retinoid).
This is going to take a few months of trial and error and going back to the dermatologist for a check up, and change your products should the need arise.
My skin for instance is VERY sensitive, so I use a foam cleanser, a VERY gentle moisturizer, and sunscreen (ainapply them in that order ofc). You should use *just enough* moisturizer and sunscreen to avoid clogging your pores. You should also massage your skin while applying them. I exfoliate twice a week
Actually, you should also do a facial. It includes all the aferomentioned steps, so it would give you an idea of how it's done. AND you should do a facial every month if possible.
