Instead of saying what they mean they play these passive aggressive games, take jabs at you. And you have to respond in the same way cause they'll claim plausable deniability, gaslight you (more mind games). You can't just call them out outright cause then you're unhinged, paranoid, you could lose your job, ruin relationships, etc.

You can't get away from it either, especially with women, they always have to shit test you.

it's true. even the people "closest" to you will do it. it's because they're all "meme machines," like the Susan Blackmore book. except they don't even know they're doing it, which is why they get so mad about it. funny, when i originally read it, i didn't think it was true. but once you realize that almost everything people do and say is a "meme," you can't unsee it.
