[THEORY] Sweat, balding and fat layer in skin are all somehow related.

Choose your situation

  • I am balding and have hard/non-squishy/fatless/rigid/sweaty skin around my face/head

  • I am NOT balding and have hard/non-squishy/fatless/rigid/sweaty skin around my face/head

  • I am balding and have fatty/squishy/elastic/non-sweaty skin around my face/head

Image result for skin layers

In the dermis, mostly androgens and 5-a reduced estrogens are synthesized, while in the subcutaneous fat layer, mostly estrogens and glucocorticoids(cortisol) are synthesized.

Ever noticed how baldcels often have good beards and lean faces, even thought there's no correlation between systemic DHT/E2 and balding. Well in bald people the scalp skin simply has too much DHT in it relative to the estrogens, often this is caused by poor blood flow between the different skin layers, so the blood in a sense gets "stuck" and the hormones inside this blood keep getting 5-a reduced to provide all kinds of anti-estrogens and androgens. Since the hair on scalp is mostly stimulated by estrogens while the hair in the beard is mostly stimulated by androgens, there is in a way a kind of a shift happening from the estrogenic hair of the scalp to the androgenic hair of the beard/body hair/pubic hair/axilla hair.

In theory increasing blood flow locally in the skin should be the best cure for baldness, indeed minoxidil works by improving skin blood flow, but even the effects of minox are often not sufficient. Also often the skin gets used to minox and doesn't respond anymore, so while a lot of the androgens are cleared, eventually they build up again even with constant minox application.

Here NO, most abundant vasodilator in the body, improved hair growth:

"Preclinical studies showed the Nitric Oxide (NO) gel significantly promoted hair follicle formation and growth in both rat and mouse models. The NO gel induced major physiological, developmental, and structural changes in the skin of mammals to increase the number of hair follicles, follicle stem cell development and regeneration as well as hair shaft elongation, and accelerated hair growth rate. Based on our animal model findings, the investigators hypothesize that the nitric oxide releasing gel could be used as a medical treatment for hair growth in humans. The objective of this trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this NO gel (XN-001), in comparison with a placebo gel in subjects in a 24-week treatment schedule."

Look what I found when looking up vaso-dilation/vasoconstriction:

Image result for hypodermis vasodilation

TL;DR constant vasoconstriction in the lower layers of the skin causes hypo-dermis thinning and lowers local estrogen levels, while constant vasodilation in the upper layers causes excess androgens to be produced locally.

When you use topical vasodilators, they dilate all layers, especially those that were constricted. This creates a higher E2/DHT ratio in the scalp locally, which prevents balding.

Lack of fat on the scalp = balding.

Answer poll for scientific reasons, thnx.

So according to your theory I am less likely to go bald when I'm older because I have a somewhat "squishy" and soft scalp? Lifefuel if true

If you have elastic and fatty tissue around/on your scalp, then yes, I'd say you have less chances of going bald, because you'd have more aromatase enzymes around the scalp.

lifefuel tbh

Maybe it's a dumb question but I'm gonna ask anyway: if fat tissue helps with aromatase, can someone with a tight/rigid scalp just get a fat graft on his head in order to increase the amount of fat tissue he has there?
Sorry if I didn't word my question properly but english is not my first language

My dad is 42 and barely has balding and only on the crown of his head. Probably could easily get it fixed but he doesn’t care Lol

I think I have good hair genetics

Seems to already be a thing:

I don't know if it'll work long-term though, fat grafts often go away/move away.

There was always this theory that in the scalp the connective fascia around the scalp becomes tight, which prevents blood-flow to the scalp and thins the hypodermis around it. The net effect would be increased local androgens relative to the estrogens. There would also be potentially more inflammation.

The left panel in this figure shows the anterior view of the facial muscles, and the right panel shows the lateral view.

Too bad no doc does scalp botox inj for hairloss

This theory is true I think. Many people get better skin quality when they are on fin. Most of the guys who sweat extremely are norwooding noticeably. A good friend of mine is NW4-5 and sweats like in summer like others in the sauna.

So maybe the constant vasodilation in the outer skin layer increases androgens, which decreases subcutaneous fat layer, which decreases estrogens locally.

Just stretch manually by tensing scalp and eyebrows muscles at the same time?
its only effective while doing this 20 minutes and more everyday
too time consuming

If you heat the collagen first to above core temperature, then stretch, this will cause permanent stretching of the connective tissue in a short period of time.

Same idea as dick-stretching.

Also insulin is shown to increase fat layer thickness where it is applied. Further I've personally experienced skin bloat from applying triglycerides on it. Just rub olive oil in your head theory. The free fatty acids in olive oil also block 5a-reductase.

just use fin lol

It's not as bad as it looks, it seems like there's more blood because there's also a lot of iodine liquid on top mixed with blood, he used dermarolling to regrow hair.
