common saying, belief that multi ethnic countries should split apart and form ethno-states. I am lowkey for it because it would be nice to see who can be the most advanced. But diversity does have its strengths when applied correctly.

what degree of splitting should be allowed tho? some groups are very close, practically the same yet they have differences. eg: serbs and croats, ukrainians and russians, anglo saxons ( french, german, swiss), punjabis and seraikis, etc...

also large groups like dravidians have a lot of differences between them (tamil, telugu, kannadigga, mallu), yet they are similar....

i am typing this on 0 hours of sleep but im bored and i want 1000 reps

i reckon more fragmentation would mean more development and trade between nations with less corruption and more isolation and poverty for nations with more corruption and less education. unfortunate but true. also would be important to see which nation would enslave their own people first.

diversity, when not hijacked by soy politics, drives innovation, trade, and adaptability. Any split, even at the smallest level, risks petty grudges and resource fights, not advancement.

I had a 100+ page argument with this a couple months ago with @CFW432 who denies he is Indian because he is Hyderbadi JFL.

Anyway I'm not a fan of nationalism and less so ethnonationalism. It makes sense for the Balkans and surprisingly it's relatively peaceful over there now. But it will cause lots of wars, discrimination and impractical. Not to mention, every fucking tribe will claim they are different over the smallest and irrelevant thing, and too much immigration has happened. Ethnicities are a fluid evolving and interactive human constructions shaped years of human history. We act like they're fixed biological realities, but shift over time and geographies.

I'm in favour of American style federalism which protects language and culture, while also being being a unified cohesive identity that incorporates many ethnicities.

I never said that but whatever makes you feel good. And yes they are still Indian. Kashmir is controversial but it's wholly possible for Bengalis to also be "Indians" because of the large population that exists in India, despite the fact that. It's like saying only Persians are Iranians who make up only 50% of the populatio ln. That the Azeris but be Azerbaijanis lol.

No, I'm not. Hyderabad was a princely state even during the times of the British Raj, unlike our two countries now. Afterwards, it was militarily invaded and annexed by India, they didn't willingly join India, whereas our ancestors willingly joined West Pakistan and East Pakistan respectively.

Right... Do you know how many states, sultanates, principalities, autonomous regions, polities etc etc or whatever you want to call them that have existed throughout history? Even in India?

And also might makes right in politics.

I'm making a point beyond India and willingly or not is irrelevant and if you knew anything about the bloody history of nationalism (especially in Europe) rather than Asia/middle east which was anti-colonial then you'd know it. I'm asking for logical consistency. There have been tens of thousands of identities and political entities. Forget south Asia. Are Bassque, Catalonians and Andalusians also Spanish or not? Lol. 99% of hyderabadis won't deny that hyderabad is in india the same way that a chechen wouldn't deny that Russia rules over Chechnya. But your average chechen wouldn't consider himself a Russian in the same way your average hyderabadi wouldn't consider themselves indian lol. Lol do you not understand that there are many ethnicities around the world who do not have their own state, are ruled over by other nations/ ethnicities, and yet still make it a point to remind everyone they are their own ethnic identity?

Chechens, kashmiris, kurds, uyghurs, and of course hyderabadis/deccanis are an example of this.

Why should i call myself indian? I wasn't born in india lol. If anything i am actually an American moreso than i am "indian" , cause i was actually born and raised in the US, lol, not India.

Also, like he said how can he be Indian when he’s born and raised in the west, and doesn’t have an Indian passport?

It’s the same with me, and most Pakistanis. Pakistani is a nationality and if we don’t have a passport how can we call ourselves Pakistani?

That’s why it’s silly when I see westerners claim to be Pakistani when they were born and raised in the west and don’t have a passport. Their parents are from Pakistan but they themselves can’t be Pakistani technically speaking as they don’t hold the passport.

They would just be whatever ethnicity they are, for example Punjabi.

But then again in Pakistan being Punjabi is cultural and linguistic so I am not even considered Punjabi technically speaking.

Watch the world collapse into many wars at the same time. It would be absolutely nonsensical.

“Ah yes let’s just split china into 9272252 different countries, one for the han chinese, one for the uyghurs, and let’s split the USA into 827262 different countries, one for mormons, another for the amish, one for west side African Americans, one for east side, and another for the cherokee tribe”

You’d be creating a ton of small and very impoverished nations, you’d have to split bosnia into like 6 different countries for example, and that none of which would have higher standards of living than Bosnia itself. Ultimately it’s not “diversity” that creates strength, it’s unity.

Feelings are irrelevant. You can hate what your identity is universally considered a part of it doesn't change it. And like I said I'm asking for consistency. Native Americans were raped and fucked by colonizers too. They got 'forcibly' assimilated as American. They are ethnically native Americans. But still part of USA.

It's funny I'm giving so many examples of other situations where people don't mind or accept that their identity is part of being a broader group (including Hyderabadis) but you don't want to accept it. If you wanna live in a bubble fine. Just say it's your own bubble.

Not every state is an ethno-state! Pakistan, USA, India have many constiuent ethnic groups which are considered NATIVE to the land. Hyderabadis are one of the constiuent ethnic groups in India. Punjabs are another in Pakistan. And we can go on an on and list every single ethnic group.

Why do I have to explain basic concepts to you?

The only way you are right as a matter of fact and not feeling is if the world balkanizes. Until then you are Pakistani, cfw is Indian and I am Bengali. Yes we have our identities, linguistic/cultural and whatever differences on top of this and we call them Punjab, Sylethi, Hyderbadi, whatever. That's a separate point.

You need a Pakistani passport to be considered Pakistani. Just like how you need an American passport to be considered American. There’s no singular ethnic group up that’s called Pakistani or American.
