This isn’t a matter of faith; therefore I don’t think it’s necessary to say things such as “this is kufr,” because I did not say anything bad or doubt Islam. I only said bad things / doubted the people that claim to follow the religion, when in essence, they don’t. Basically my point is about a sense of acceptance among a group of people; it has nothing to do with saying anything about religion itself. You are right that religion does influence culture but you are essentially blaming islam, atleast partially for how things turned out. Lets look at it from an islamic point of view - what do you do when you want to marry a girl? you get your parents to ask her parents for her hand in marriage, correct? you chatted to her privately which is not permitted now is it? So although their response was harsh, i can see why it happened, due to feeling betrayed by their friend etc, again it was an overreaction and they should have been mature about it but because these two idiots who might very well be low IQ, acted in this way, you now base your entire view that every muslim is going to react this way, if you do it the correct way, then you are not doing anything wrong. I can however agree that in current day most western marriages to people not related don't really happen by parents of guy/girl asking for it, and usually the two in question are meeting/dating beforehand. But you are against this or were against this, you very clearly said you hated the whole western islamic dating thing yet that's what you were essentially doing with privately chatting wasn't it? If you as a muslim man clearly consider leaving your faith if someone hands you an indian girl, how is that not kufr? you have already lost faith because if you hadn't, such a thought would not even be considered. As muslims it is our job to inform you that it is indeed kufr and to try and stop you from further going down this path. That is our responsibility if we truly believe in God and our religion, so to say it's not necessary is simply not true.
