Thumbpulling??? this isnt 2022, how much did oscar patel pay you?
 
Instead of belt/towel use exercise bands strung to pullup bar close to a wall, u can hook them up to the bar go into chin tuck position against wall and adjust the load of the band depending on how many times its wrapped around the bar. Personally haven't tried it but could be worth trying for a few months to see if any difference occurs.
