I see this all the time, especially in spaces where normies are prevalent and seem to put others down with absolutely no comprehension of how resilient the human body actually is. Like, for example, you can be an alcoholic for decades and largely be fine after becoming completely sober for the rest of your life (there is nuance as it does depend on the severity of the addiction lol) and be in a spot that's negligible for health/lifespan if you lock in. That's how resilient the human body can be, and it's the same with smoking; a lot of people can recover. This is especially the case the younger you are, as the body can rebound much quicker, especially with all the modern understanding of pharmacology at our disposal. With all that being said, if you're trying to maxx out any part of your life, whether that be looks or experiences that you'll cherish as long as you don't develop a chronic addiction, you'll likely be fine. So don't stress, blast those roids, snort that line w your friends, do that degenerate shit while you're young, as you only get this chance once, and it'll never come back. Time doesn't stop for anyone, so live in the present, be somewhat controlled and deal w the consequences later lmao, as you'll likely recover from whatever you're doing as long as you have some grasp over what you're taking and are not a complete idiot
TLDR - Just live while you're young, your body will likely recover - its resilient as fuck
