Let me put ya’ll on to this W skin care routine to promote collagen production and moisturize the skin.
Why do you want good skin?
It makes you look younger, and brighter.
Why do you want to moisturize? It makes your skin glowy, and brighter.. which is a great health indicator and bitches love good skin.
Now for the routine:
-basic exfoliation, to remove dirt and dead skin cells. Detoxifying pores, very basic in terms of preventative acne.
Vitamin C Serum,
-Produces Tyrosinase, a natural enzyme aiding in melanin production. This is why many say they look like they have a light tan after applying.
-Collagen synthesis promoting, for plumpness and light reflection.
-antioxidants to neutralize free radicals in the skin barrier and reduce aging caused by oxidative stress.
-removing dead skin cells
-Hyaluronic Acid Serum,
Wait 3-5 minutes for vitamin c to absorb, and dampen the skin lightly with water. Avoid a dripping wet face… a decent amount of moisture is required as HA acid draws in existing water into the skin barriers cells to promote moisture. Applying HA serum to a dry face can actually make your skin drier
HA is a natural glycosaminoglycan. Meaning it bonds extremely well with Water.
By increasing the local concentration of hydrophilic polymers, it creates a high osmotic pressure that draws water into the skin barrier. This process, known as endogenous hydration… requires existing exogenous hydration(above the skin barrier).
-Lightweight Moisturizer/water based
Applying a lightweight water based moisturizer lotion/gel will actually as a barrier to add further moisture and prevent dehydration throughout the day, while also not being too heavy on the face, and avoiding a matte, dry like look. As time goes by, existing moisture in the face will evaporate, via air or even thru zinc oxide products from sunscreen. A lightweight gel is needed to apply over the face to prevent this, as its occlusive properties like dimethicone or squalene, help drastically reduce the rate of evaporation.
-SPF 30+
Avoid zinc oxide ingredients as it is dehydrating.. often times using the lightweight moisturizer to trap moisture in is enough but for many people like me, any spf with zinc oxide will eventually dry out your face by mid day, making you look dull.
The final affect will be a light tanned, glow look, eliminating a pale and dehydrated tone
