There’s so many conflicting ideas about this. I feel like it should be a straightforward answer. I know non custom non screwed implants cause bone resorption but does a custom fit screwed in implant cause it???

This shouldn’t rly be confusing there’s an answer yea or no. Are there any clinical studies on this?

I heard fixed customs dont cause bone resorption because there's no friction compared to ordinary implants, also I heard titanium implants dont cause resportion but still I haven't seen studies about it

I'm pretty confidend ANY foreign object in your face could damage your bones though

So a fixed custom that doesn’t get infected will have no noticeable resorption? Cool. What about cases where patients bone actually grows over the edges of the implant? I’ve seen cases of this which is cool too the implant actually stimulated bone growth.

its not that hard to understand. It doesnt matter if you have an implant or not, your bone structure resorption, shrink, receed and change over the years anyway. So in 20-30 years it will definitely do something.

All those studies with old chin implants are few decades old, and logically we cant know with the materials because they havent been used that long or there is no decade long study.

The person in this image had bone growth in their nasal bone and even zygomatic arch lol. Weird, they grew bones as they got older. Maybe use a different image next time.
