What Theory About Time Do You Believe In?

• Times arrow: Moves forward in a linear sense and cannot be straightened
• Block Theory: All moments of time exist in a 4 dimensional block with all moments of time happening at once
• Cyclical Theory: Time moves in a circle and the we are in a repeating cycle of the universe
• Quantum Time: Time is a quantum state that is fixed and merely a fabric of other times
• Relativity: Time is relative to the individual and is slowed or sped up via moving through space faster or slower
• Fractal: Time folds into itself such as a fractal and is repeated into new shapes of time

I have never heard the term Block theory before, but it closely resembles the multiple dimensional time that I think exists. I have long thought that string theory thinking that there were multiple physical dimensions balled up inside the 3 dimensional space that we can not see was misguided, and that it is really time that is multidimensional. I am not a mathmatician though, so can't comment if it would balance the 13 dimensional string theory models necessary to get the their math to balance.

Arrow makes the most sense on first glance and seems the most reasonable, what would even be the basis for other theories like time being cyclic? That just sounds like a religious belief

Block theory has a lot of names, eternalism is also a name.

But yes, it is similar to string theory, although in block theory it’s a 4 dimensional block unlike string theory which has many more dimensions

Not much of a math or physics base, more so that it seems to hard to accept that the universe will never end

Isn’t it theorized that not the universe at large but at least earth will be completely destroyed once the sun gives out in a billion more years or whatever?

We’ll be on different planets by then and even if humans died time wouldn’t stop
