Why tbh? Heat up some iron, and pound it a few hours, dip in the water. Repeat tomorrow. Can also tell your boy to go get charcoal or pound the iron once in a while. Then sell fine weapons to local lord for a good price.

If before 1066 then I’d be a Viking, but most people were farmers so that’s the most realistic one, depending on which class I was born into. But if I could choose though I would probably be a town merchant or baker or tailor. Anything chill in a town with a house where I lived and worked and a work that would ensure respect would be good to me.

What do you mean, they had these professions in the medieval times - paladins were holy knights, ranger were archers, assassins were widespread in all cultures, mages were wizards, witches, sorcerers, and other people involved in the occult.
