that's a result of a guy who lives in the basment
For sure.

It's easy to get 15k-20k a day if you actually go outside and stuff.

Nah, it doesn't serve any particular purpose in my life. I just like to look at stats like these every once in a while.

Funnily enough, it's actually an awfully ineffective method to burn calories:
It's fucking shit for burning calories tho.

Yesterday, I amassed nearly 30k steps in total throughout the day.
Which was the equivalent of burning about 1.2k calories.

And yet, all of that good work can be undone simply by eating 3 Snickers chocolate bars

30k steps equals 24-25Km, which equals around 1500 calories btw
i'm measuring with a 1000$ garmin device, way way more accurate then the phone apps
not sure it's that easy to hit 30k like you guys describe here, like i said - it took me 25km of walking to do so

I didn't intend to set a new PR or anything tbh. It just happened because I was very active that day.

Most of the day, pretty much. But like I said above, I wasn't trying to get as many steps as possible but if I had intended to do that, I could have achieved 30k steps in a much shorter time frame, for sure.

Got up relatively early, and then spend the rest of the morning + the entire afternoon (apart from a few small breaks in between) walking because I was hanging out with my friend on that day.

Eventually went home and went to the gym later on in the evening. Also managed to squeeze in about an hour of cycling throughout the day + an extra walk after gymcelling.

50,000. I remember taking a 2 hour walk in the morning. Than I was at work for 7 hours (constantly moving). Than I took another long walk after work. It was fucking crazy. My legs were so sore the next day
Sleeping is so easy after long walks

I'm assuming at least 50k considering I played sports and was in marching band in grade school.

That equates to about 2,000 steps per mile.
I think some people are grossly over estimating the number of steps in a mile (km).

yep. comparing to some apps i saw, you can get 30k steps quite easily. On a real expensive watches which were developed for measuring steps well, you'll find it you're not even close to 30K compared to the apps

Samsung Health.

But I'm sure there are plenty of other/similar apps out there if you don't have a Samsung.
