Introduction
In this post I'll be explaining why agressive cutting doesn't work in the long run. I'll also explain the right way to cut and how to fix your plateau.
Since the trend of "starvemaxxing" became popular people have been dropping they're calories dangerously low. For example I saw a tiktok yesterday of a guy that was 17 and 175cm tall. He was overweight and only ate around 1800kcal. For most people this will seem like a good idea (Muh calories in, Muh calories out:lul:) But if we reavaluate this aproach to weightloss from a long term perspective you will understand that the cons outweigh the pros in the case of agressive cutting.

Starvemaxxing (AKA extreme/agressive calorie deficit) Pros and Cons

Starvemaxxing is a term that has circulated a lot on the internet since recent tiktokers like lucasegolifts went viral with their extreme weightloss. But was is starvemaxxing? Starvemaxxing is the extreme cutting of maintenance calories to gain quick and a lot of weightloss. For example:
Imagine a 18 year old that is 185cm tall and 85kg that works out 3-5 days a week would need 2978 calories a day.

When people starvemax they would cut around 1000 kcals. That would leave us with 1978 calories a day. In the first few weeks we will see quick results. Think of losing around 7-9kg easily.

But there are mostly heavy cons to this aproach to weightloss. A few are:

-Hormonal imbalances
-Stunts growth in Youngcels
-Fucks up your metabolism which you will have to fix after crash dieeting. (I will explain more on this later)
-Muscle Loss (about 1/4 of the weight you lose is lean mass)
-Extreme Fatigue and Low energy

So in conclusion Starvemaxxing isn't the right aproach to dieeting. It isn't the right aproach because the cons outweight the pros. In the next segment I will explain how to revive your metabolism.

For the users here that have tried extreme weightloss may be familair with a plateau that you hit after a few weeks or months of extreme crash dieting. This plateau is your bodys way of telling you: You need to eat more. I'm going to keep all my weight on my body because I need it to stay alive. So how do you break this plateau and continue losing weight?

So first off we need to increase your calories very slowly. For our test subject I've mentioned earlier we will do this in steps of adding an additional 100 calories every week untill we reach around 85-90% of your maintenance calories. For our test subject this would be: 2978 X 0.9 = 2680 calories a day. This will help your metabolism reset to its natural pace.

It will also help you to gain more energy and you will gain a little bit of weight yes but it's necessary to continue weightloss with the better plan I will write down below. Now that you've increased your calories slowly by adding around 100 untill you've reached the 85-90% you want to eat that amount of calories around 2-3 weeks to let your body restore it's normal way of burning calories and get out of that survival state. This will also help you to reset your RMR (rest metabolic rate).

Now that you've reset your RMR to a healthy rate you will cut down again untill you're in a 300(low end)-500(high end) calorie deficit. This way your body can lose weight sustainably and you can keep most of your muscle. If you decide you want to eat all of your calories you can do that but just make sure you burn off those 300-500 calories a day. I wish all the fatcels the greatest of luck! Yeah, if anyone eats like that they can go and kill themselves.

Literally eating worse than an African kid in africa. Rather eat dirt, that would be more nutritious.

Wdym calories don't exist? And thats just a photo
calories aren't applicable to how humans process foods
same amount of "calories" of different foods give vastly different metabolic outcomes

Yup. That's why it's not accurate at all.

500 calories of steak and broccoli are the same thing?

Their macros and micros are different, like it just ain't accurate. Steak would increase testosterone, has a lot of micros, will cause fat loss, while 500 cals of broccoli will cause muscle loss, inflammation, thyroid issues.

Alright your right. I wasn't thinking about the macros while making this guide. Shouldve included those! Thanks for the feedback

why does that matter if ur fat as shit? You will gain muscle back in few weeks
