Trying your best works because it puts you through the motion of learning the nuances of what you think of what you think is best. It makes you learn why what you think is best, is not best. Do not look for shortcuts, final answers, or the best answer, because how do you know the best answer that satisfies your need for the truth, is the truth.

Basically trust your instinct by doing what you feel like doing, and you feel is the right thing to do. I am saying this because I used to feel like I needed the right answer and the most efficient path all the time and I was missing the point of trying your best theory.
