I need advice ASAP: My orthodontis says I have 2 options to fix my slightly crooked teeth: either extractions or Interproximal tooth Reduction ("IPR, is the practice of mechanically removing enamel from between the teeth to achieve orthodontics ends, such as to correct crowding") with braces.
I know extractions are bad because of boneloss, so I will most likely go with IPR, but im not sure if it would have a similar negative effect on the face. The thing is IPR affects enamel, not bone: Since IPR involves only the enamel layer of the teeth, it does not inherently impact the underlying bone or periodontal tissues.
Should I just get it or will it also fuck up my face? My maxilla is already slightly recessed, but overall I have a good jaw and good/aggressive FWTHR.
