Would traditional braces with Class 2 bands recess me?

consulted with the ortho and he said traditional braces would be best with class 2 bands for my overbite. I wanna know if this would actually bring my lower jaw forward or just take everything back

the effect of class 2 bands mostly depends on whether you get traditional class 2 (upper canine to lower first or second molar) or short class 2 (upper canine to lower premolar.) short class 2 doesn’t usually cause recession, but traditional class 2 can. talk to your ortho to make sure though, i’m just speaking from personal experience and quick research
