Money in it's physical form doesn't exist but resources always did. The way I look at it, everything is a resource, even looks, money is just the modern common unit of resource representation.

Everything in life comes down to leveraging resources. Looks is a resource just like money. Someone being born into a wealthy family is no different than someone being born with better genetics

Looks is just a currency with greater value, in the same way that the Australian Dollar is worth way more than the Zimbabwean dollar but dismissing money and status to be worthless and the attraction due to looks as real attraction is cope.
