Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Ibn Mansoor Al Thaalabi said in his book Fiqqatu Lugghah wa Sarr ,page 448
”That the colour Adam is blackness in humans and when referring to camels it means whiteness.”
He also said in Fiqqatu Lughghah, Chapter 13 – The Degrees of Blackness in Humans, Page 126
”If it’s blackness is increased on Asmar, then it is Adam.”
Abu Waleed Sulaymaan bin Khalf AlBaaji Al Andalusy said in his book Al Muntaqy Sharr Al MuwT Chapter 7 , page 230,
(The colour)” Adam is above Asmar (meaning darker) towering it to (the colour) jet black.”
“The word Adam derived as follows: Adam, Adamah, Adami, Adamh – which means earthly. The earth is a rich, dark substance, and from it our first parents were taken. Now if we admit that Dr. Brown’s and other Bible Dictionaries are correct in their explanations of the meaning of terms, then the deduction must be that Ethiopia (Gen. ii. 13,) was black, and the first people were Ethiopians, or blacks.” Source: Light and Truth (Library of Congress
The National Geographic Channel says Adam was black.
