Australian Bimax Surgeons Other Than Coceancig?

I was intending to get bimax with Coceancig this year, however, it seems like he isn't coming back anytime soon, if at all.

Most of the other bimax surgeons in Australia I've seen have rather pathetic under-advacements and presumably use shitty standard plates as opposed to custom ones.

I want an Australian surgeon because my insurance will be able to cover it.

I'm not purely doing this for looksmaxxing, I do also legitimately have sleep apnea.

Considering just going to a subpar looks surgeon to just get the apnea fixed.

Does anyone know of a halfway decent Australian bimax surgeon who at least pays some attention to looks?

From what coceancig told me, Australian citizens still have to pay about 30K over what insurance will pay coceancig, right? Non Australian citizens have to pay over 100k.

Something like that, yes. I can afford that perfectly fine.

I'm on comprehensive private health insurance and have a pretty hefty amount of savings that can pay $30k easily.

Without getting into specific personal details, I was intending to do this surgery either this year or 5+ from now.

Obviously, I want it sooner than later.

I was in the consultation stages with Coceancig when he got his license suspended and I have no idea whether he's coming back anytime soon or at all.

I've searched for other Australian bimax surgeons, but all the results I've seen so far leave a lot to be desired. Under-advancement abounds.

Either, I find a good bimax surgeon somewhere in Australia, or, find an affordable-enough surgeon elsewhere in the world or I don't do it at all.

Suggestions?

Andrew Heggie is fairly respected by his peers I believe. If you consult with him in person he will show you before and afters. He also recommended I could see Lydia Lim, he seems to think highly of her.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've looked at Lydia Lim a bit, however, many of her results seem aesthetically off. Oddly long chins or under-advancement.

I had my bimax surgery carried out by Brent Allan in 2020 in Perth. I was vey happy with the results; lower jaw was advanced by 16.4mm and maxilla by about 5.5 mm.

All custom plates. He considered very carefully the option of also segmenting my maxilla but decided against it as he could get the desired bite and facial width without it.

I found him very good. No nonsense (typical of a surgeon!) but without the weirdness of certain YouTube surgeons.

No, he didn't offer any implants -- which isn't to say that he doesn't do it.

I was a reasonably low-information patient when he was treating me, so my questions were much more limited compared to what I suspect others would want to have answered on this site. But he was clear he would move my jaw as much as he could -- and 16.4 mm is a big movement -- and making sure my mid face filled out.

For me, I wasn't chasing perfection, but he fixed a lot of things for me and I look a lot better than before. Being more confident made a huge difference.

@HandsomeTwink420 how did you end up?
I agree Australia has limited options with Coceancig suspended… I’ve consulted with 3 other surgeons and frustratingly fucking conservative

I'm waiting for coceancig to come back, is there no hope? There's no substitute for his blackpilled levels
What's wrong with the other 3 apart from what I presume is underadvancement

Tbh I’m not sure what’s happening with him, his phone is shut off and it looks like someone is trying to find patients to litigate against him…
Yeah conservative movements and a general reluctance to talk about detailed planning and size of movements - they take a “trust me” approach which doesn’t cut it for me

Wrong am getting it for 13k with custom titanium plates

I seem to have found a really good surgeon but I won’t share until I actually do it and see how it turns out

He seemed extremely experienced, knowledgeable and affordable

Although he did seem blue pilled tbh however he could do big movements if your case actually needed it

You are misunderstanding something. Coceancig is suspended.

And the custom titanium plates cost 15-25K from DePuy Synthes, which is what coceancig used. So either insurance is paying the rest or your other surgeon is baiting and switching you saying yes he's doing custom plates but not really doing them.

In Australia private health insurance covers custom titanium plates + hospital stay. I don’t have an estimate of what these will cost but prob in the range of 50 k, so for non Australians it’s prob can cost 70k+ and I wouldn’t recommend doing it here

Citizens only have to pay for anaesthesia, 3d planning and the surgery itself.

Idk how much concerning was charging Australian citizens but if it’s anything more than 15-20k he’s literally scamming them. My surgeon has done thousands of them, does not promote himself maliciously and is highly reputable and respected by his peers so he does not need to do anything either

I'll be consulting with another Australian surgeon who will most likely also be frustratingly fucking conservative.

Given that I actually have pretty bad sleep apnea that I need fixed, and am on parents insurance until I turn 25, will probably just bite the bullet and get a conservative but cheap bimax.

Maybe go to Raffaini for some implant refinement when I'm a bit older.
