Braces for overjet during puberty

Im 15 and I got braces at age 14 for my slight overjet and I also had some gaps and crowding, I didn’t get extractions or bands. Do they cause recessions?Im worried because I’ve seen TikTok’s saying that braces can cause recession and prevent your maxilla and mandible from growing properly.

have you noticed any recession in that year? if not, then don't stress. even if it was the case, i would rather be slightly recessed than having crowded and fucked up teeth lmao. braces are completely fine if done correctly, don't let fear mongering get to you bro

I appreciate it, I haven’t noticed much change but it had me stressing seeing all the TikTok’s about it
