A receiving tube is then positioned at this exit mark to stabilize the tissue and protect surrounding areas as the needle is advanced.

It is advanced through the urethral channel until the tip emerges from the underside of the glans into the receiving tube. The motion should be steady and continuous to minimize tissue tearing. Once the needle has fully exited, the jewelry is introduced immediately, often by attaching it to the end of the needle and guiding it through the new channel in one smooth motion.

When the jewelry is in place, it is secured according to its design — for example, snapping the bead into position for a captive bead ring or tightening the threaded ends of a curved barbell.
