I measured my palate and let chatgpt check it to know for sure and it came at around 4.5-4.7cm
Im not sure if I need a palate expander
Ive had braces before so it wouldnt be convenient but I will do anything to improve my looks

u cant decide whether you need a palate expander from a home measurement, js cuz its 4.5-4.7cm by itself doesnt mean its narrow or needs expansion. Measuring at home can be unreliable, two people can both be 4.6cm where one could need expansion and the other doesnt. An ortho could consider expansion when there's a crossbite, severe crowding from a narrow maxilla, airway/breathing issues from jaw structure or skeletal restriction. If you already had braces then your bite was already addressed and major structural issues were likely corrected. If your palate was actually narrow, it probably would've been flagged during braces, an ortho wouldn't miss that. There are also a lot of risks to consider, especially after puberty, such as pain, gum recession, root issues, relapse, needing braces again, and minimal cosmetic result. Doing it for looks is high risk, low reward. If you're genuinely concerned see an ortho or maxillofacial specialist, get scans not opinions.

Yea so the measured palate came from a mold the orthodontist gave me of my palate, I had a crossbite and they fixed it with braces. Tomorrow Im going to a doctor because my airways are always blocked so they might do something about that
