Hey, I've seen a lot of conflicting info on this so I wanted to ask directly.

I'm 18 legally but have a confirmed bone age of ~14-15 (wrist X-ray done March 9th), with plates still clearly open (constitutional growth delay, same as my father).

My Accutane history : 5 months at 30mg/day (60kg), relapsed 3 months after stopping, then restarted with 1 month at 40mg + 2 months at 50mg. Finished the second course about 3 weeks ago.

My questions :
  1. Does Accutane realistically affect vertical growth/final height ?
  2. Does my profile (delayed bone age, open plates) make me more at risk ?
  3. Since my plates were still wide open on March 9th, before the 50mg phase, does that suggest Accutane hadn't accelerated closure up to that point ? Or is the risk more about what happens during/after higher doses ?
I've heard everything from "it's a myth" to "it caused premature closure in documented cases." Just want honest, informed takes. That's why I'm coming to you.

Many thanks in advance. :)

it basicly doesnt effect final adult height but it effects how much you grow, like u will grow slower but final adult height stays the same.

It probably won't, there are no crazy doses and u werent young asf during the course.
No not really, I wouldnt risk anything though and generally if you are that lucky you should be looking into heightmaxxing, not worth risking anything.
The risk is what accutane does to your plates, what happens to them usually stays a bit but your plates can recover from it.

Usually no but in some cases adolescents and young teens have shown early growth plate closure but that's mostly because of higher dosing and using the drug for long periods of time.

Also keep in mind that isotretinoin is a stronger form of vitamin A which can speed up bone maturation while using
But that doesn't really effect your growth plates.

I've been using accutane since February this year and my growth is still progressing at its usual pace.

hope this helped
