he doesn't know lol, he just told me to do one turn (0.25mm) a week from which I started at 35mm and im now at 45mm

yeah I'm at 10mm 3 weeks after SARPE and the expander seems to keep going.

I've measured one from Aliexpress that said 12mm but it goes to 20mm+ somehow. hope I can get the whole 20+ from it

Remember that you can always expand your palate later in the future, but im pretty sure there is no easy way to shorten it

Remember that you can always expand your palate later in the future, but im pretty sure there is no easy way to shorten it

you can expand it even in adulthood if the health requirements are met (general good health, good alveolar bone support, etc). the only thing is that after 21 years old the suture is usually completely fused and needs to be surgically reopened (MARPE/SARPE), which is why its still possible to expand it even after 30 years old.

it is a good choice to expand it in child/teen age years because a narrow palate during these years will lock the lower mandible and make it grow downwards, which is why some myofunctional therapists suggest lower jaw surgery along with MARPE to fix jaw structure and function. every case is different from person to person so you have to be careful about it
